Well, designer Marie Thurnauer has the solution for you! Her 53 inch long light can satisfy almost any morose need you may have, with her light that is shaped like a noose. Granted, I actually kind of like it, but I could just imagine the lyrics from “you light up my life” coming from that artwork. I think the thought of Halloween is still stuck in my head…

So things lately have me wondering…
…which structure tends to leave a more lasting impression? I would try and answer this myself, but naturally I am biased based on being a bridge designer for over 11 years now.
So, would all my efforts as a structural engineer be more fulfilling as a building designer or a bridge designer?
